The Organizational Structure
Composed of distinct teams, supporting the same mission, with different functions.
Pastoral Leadership Team (the church staff)

The prime responsibility is to guide the church in the direction God is leading the Body. They will do this by envisioning the future, training people to have excellent skills for ministry, and motivating people in their ministry.
The question that the Pastoral Leadership Team keeps in mind is “How can we help you feel fresh enthusiasm and renewed willpower to carry on doing whatever Christ is calling you to do?”

The Church Council manages the day-to-day life of the church. They quickly implement decisions that are a part of their ministry with selective consultations as needed. They do not give or withhold permission for ministry. They do not create or run ministries. They are about helping the seeds of ministry grow and supporting them. Their basic question to every idea or proposal is “How can we help you do it?”
The Church Council includes the Pastoral Leadership Team, Officers, and the team list below which includes people who oversee these ministries:

- Events Team (Tonya Merkle): Encourage and provide advice and/or aid to those who wish to organize any event. (Traditionally held annual events are shown here.) Responsibilities, with input from other teams as shown, are:

Communications Team (Jean Price): The purpose of the Communications Team is to advertise Highland Park, facilitate communication within Highland Park, answer questions, and publish decisions in a timely manner.
Connections Team (Vera Zeigler): Everyone deserves an opportunity to do ministry. This team provides everyone with assistance to do ministry well and personal, practical support to grow. The Connections Team oversees the spiritual gifts discernment process. They ensure that training is provided for any ministry and that we always strive for excellence. The Team may provide the training or assist the Administrative Team in the training. The basic question of the Connections Team is, “How can we help you discover the ministry God is calling you to?”
