Youth Ministry Information
Several young people have committed to leading Highland Park's youth ministry. Each of these people has adult mentors for training and accountability. Each of them also asks for communication from parents, especially if the parents are dissatisfied with the ministry/leaders in any way. They also ask for prayer as they will be praying for each student and their parents as well. The youth ministry is co-led by Pastor Bill Wolfe and Rev. Steve Wamberg. The current young leaders are:
- Justin Schoendube
- Kevin Hodges
- Casey Blanchette
Pastor Bill Wolfe's vision of a healthy youth ministry includes:
- Community - fellowship with each other
- Fun
- Spiritual Growth - discovering Jesus Christ, their calling, and their spiritual gifts
- Service/Ministry
Most Sundays at 3:00-5:00 p.m. there is a youth worship time with the agenda as follows:
- Greeting time (5-10 minutes)
- Worship music (10-15 minutes)
- Message - various speakers, some in-house, some from outside (15 minutes)
- Break into Junior High and Senior High discussion groups (30-45 minutes)
- Fun (usually separate Junior High and Senior High activities) (rest of the time)
The Sunday morning classes are Senior High and Junior High (Middle School). They are held most Sundays during the school year at 9:00-10:00 a.m. in classrooms above the Fellowship Hall at the south side of the building.
